Ivana Trump and Her Fiance Disturb The Peace

Posted on Mar 28, 2008 under 1 | No Comment

FRIENDS of Ivana Trump are crossing their fingers and praying the bouncy Czech and her Italian stallion, Rossano Rubicondi, can stop fighting long enough to actually get married on April 12.

The combative couple were bickering so badly the night of March 17, St. Patrick’s Day, that Palm Beach police received a 911 call at 11:23 p.m. and responded to Ivana’s mansion on Jungle Road.

“There was a disturbance,” a police spokeswoman told Page Six. “No one was arrested.”

A Florida source said Rubicondi, 35, who is 24 years younger than Donald Trump’s first wife, was briefly handcuffed by the cops, who released him after talking to his tired and emotional fiancée.

“The whole thing is ridiculous,” said one friend of the couple. “They’ve been fighting ever since they met each other, and the only reason anyone can imagine for why they are getting married is for the publicity.”

OK! magazine is said to have bought exclusive rights to the wedding photos for $1 million. Guests have been warned that all cellphones and cameras must be checked at the reception desk. To make sure the photos are stunning, all the women have been told to wear pastel gowns - but not pink or yellow - and men are instructed to wear white suits, white shirts, and white ties.

Other sources said the two were still fighting over the prenuptial agreement that Ivana wants the penniless Rossano to sign to protect her considerable assets, which include a townhouse on East 64th Street, houses in St. Tropez, a chic flat on London’s Eaton Square and the Palm Beach estate.

Donald Trump, who has written extensively on the necessity for prenups, reportedly assigned one of his lawyers to draft the document, and will “go nuts” if it isn’t signed soon, we’re told.

The Donald is quasi-hosting the event at his Mar-a-Lago club, with a rehearsal dinner around the swimming pool the night before, and the reception in the ballroom for 550 guests, including Robin Leach, Dr. Ruth Westheimer, Rick and Kathy Hilton and Neil Sedaka, who will perform, as well as a troupe from Cirque du Soleil.

Ivana, who selected six gowns from the couture shows in Paris in February, will be given away by her sons, Donald Jr. and Eric. Her maid of honor is daughter Ivanka, but there will be 24 other bridesmaids and an equal number of groomsmen.

Katie Holmes set to make her professional Broadway debut

Posted on Mar 28, 2008 under 1 | No Comment

Katie Holmes is in final negotiations to make her professional stage debut on Broadway.

The producer of a revival of All My Sons, Arthur Miller’s heartbreaking, post-World War II family drama, is clearly hoping Holmes (aka the third Mrs Tom Cruise) will create some sizzle at the box office later this year.

It would be the first major revival of a Miller play since the dramatist’s death three years ago.

All My Sons, to be directed by British-born Simon McBurney, would also allow Holmes to be more than “Mrs Tom Cruise” for six nights a week.

The actress has committed to taking part in a private workshop of the play in May. She will play the part of a woman who visits her former neighbours, the family of a missing pilot she once loved.

Producer Eric Falkenstein has already cast Broadway veterans John Lithgow and Dianne Wiest, which has had the desired effect of making Ms Holmes more comfortable about taking on her first play since high school.

Holmes has told McBurney and Falkenstein that she is serious about working in the theatre.

Indeed, before her life was taken over by the cult of Cruise and turned into celebrity culture chow mein, Ms Holmes enjoyed a fastrising career, beginning with a small role in Ang Lee’s powerful movie The Ice Storm.

She had a good stint on Dawson’s Creek, and several choice film roles in low-budget projects such as Pieces Of April and blockbusters such as Batman Begins.

Marriage to Cruise, though, created a dull sensibility about her which had nothing to do with her talent.

It was almost as though, after the birth of their daughter Suri (who will be two next month), she would have to start all over again from the bottom rung.

And you couldn’t get more bottom rung than the film comedy Mad Money, which - mercifully - few saw.

One theatre expert based in London told me: “This play will be like a shop window for Katie. The aim is to remind people of her acting chops. It’s kind of a neat idea.

“Nicole Kidman had Hollywood eating out of her hand when she was in The Blue Room,” the expert added.

Although, unlike The Blue Room, there’s no scene in All My Sons that calls for Ms Holmes to disrobe.

If the revival is favourably received then Miller’s heir, his daughter Rebecca, might give permission for the production and Ms Holmes to transfer to London, even though Howard Davies directed a version here a couple of years ago.

Are Tom Cruise and Sumner Redstone Gonna Kiss and Make Up?

Posted on Mar 28, 2008 under 1 | No Comment

TOM Cruise and Sumner Redstone are settling their differences and getting ready to work together again. Redstone, the cantankerous head of Viacom and CBS, fired Cruise two years ago after Cruise jumped on Oprah Winfrey’s couch to demonstrate his love for Katie Holmes and then went on “Today” to promote “Mission: Impossible III,” but instead went on a tirade against prescription drugs. But the two had lunch yesterday at the Polo Lounge in the Beverly Hills Hotel, one of LA’s most public places for a rapprochement. “Tom is missing Paramount. He needs a hit,” explained one Angeleno.

Dancing with the Stars hottie Karina Smirnoff might have two partners off the dance floor

The shapely brunette has stepped out publicly with her former dance partner, Mario Lopez, but was also recently spotted kissing her current one, R&B singer Mario, at the Four Seasons in Los Angeles. “They were making out by the valet with their hands all over each other, and he was whispering in her ear,” said our source. “It was around midnight, so there weren’t many people around.” The two then got in the same car and drove off together with Mario at the wheel. Reps for the show and Lopez did not return calls. Karina’s rep denied the kiss, saying she and Mario have a “professional working relationship.”

MAYBE Jennifer Aniston won’t be single forever. Spies at newly opened restaurant Beso in Los Angeles saw the divorced Hollywood hottie holding court with swashbuckling stud Orlando Bloom. “They were sitting very close,” said our onlooker, “and she was looking at him like he was her favorite guy in the world.” Last we heard, Bloom was model Miranda Kerr’s main man, but she was “nowhere to be found” at the party.

Is Clay Aiken afraid of big bad Diane Sawyer?

It’s the only way to explain why he brought a hulking, 7-foot tall bodyguard to the celebrity-heavy “Spamalot” third anniversary party at Pigalle on Wednesday night, which Sawyer attended with husband Mike Nichols. “Clay stood there with the bodyguard all night,” said our spy. “He stays a few feet away from him and follows him around. Apparently, Clay gets mobbed by fans, but this party was just other celebrities, so it was peculiar.”

Priscilla Presleys Former Plastic Surgeon Could Be Deported

Posted on Mar 28, 2008 under 1 | No Comment

Dr. Daniel Serrano, who was released last week from a 15-month jail term for injecting Dancing With the Stars contestant Priscilla Presley and other celebs with unsafe forms of silicone years ago, was arrested Wednesday by immigration officials, TMZ.com reports.

Serrano, a native of Argentina who was not licensed to practice here, was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents for possible “removal” from the U.S., according to TMZ.

On Tuesday, Presley’s rep admitted the 62-year-old star was treated by Serrano.

“Priscilla Presley was one of many documented victims of [Dr. Daniel Serrano],” her rep said in a statement to Usmagazine.com.

“An investigation which uncovered his misconduct ultimately lead to his imprisonment. Ms. Presley dealt with this matter years ago and everything is well.”

Carnie Wilson: I Have Not Gained 79 Pounds!

Posted on Mar 28, 2008 under 1 | No Comment

Carnie Wilson is slamming the National Enquirer for claiming that she has gained 79 pounds and plans to have another gastric bypass.

“If I’m 205 today, that means I am up 70 pounds,” she revealed in a candid interview about her weight battle on Good Morning America Thursday. 79 pounds, she said, “is an outright lie.

“It is very hard being in the public eye, being scrutinized for every pound,” she added.

“They’re saying I’m going to have liposuction, another gastric bypass to have a baby,” she went on. “It’s laughable.”

Nine years ago, Wilson, now 39, underwent gastric bypass after ballooning to 300 pounds.

About 16 months after the procedure, she was down to 148 pounds.

Wilson — who has struggled with her weight since age 4 — said she packed the pounds back on while pregnant with her daughter Lola, who was born in 2005.

“A gastric bypass patient needs follow rules,” Wilson said. “I fell off the bandwagon when I was pregnant… my eating habits changed.

“For me, it was about snacking,” she added. “Somebody can consume a certain amount of calories, and if they don’t burn the calories, that equals weight gain.”

The Enquirer stands by its story that Wilson is planning on having another surgery, but Wilson said she is losing pounds through rigid exercise.

She said her ideal weight is “somewhere between 150 and 170.”

Exercising is not easy, she admitted: “When I am on the treadmill, I am thinking about lunch.”

But Wilson (who wants another baby) said, “I am committed to this, to my health, whether I am 300 or 200 or 150 [pounds].

Her weight, she said, “will always be a battle — surgery or no surgery.

“I am committed to my daughter. I want to be a light of hope for her,” she added. “[I’m not saying] you need to be a size 6 … you need to be healthy. That is the message I want to give to her.”
